Careers at Catalyst Physical Therapy & Wellness

Different by design — built for people who want to build a career, not just fill shifts. Read on; if it sounds like you, scroll down to see what’s open.

What sets us apart

Different by design

We don’t look like — or operate like — a typical PT clinic.

We are not a white-wall, clipboard, productivity-driven clinic. We built Catalyst to feel different the moment you walk through the door — a place where providers work with each other, not isolated behind treatment room doors. A place where movement, conversation, learning, and connection happen naturally.

Open
Collaborative
Energetic
Human

Our mission is to build a true one-stop ecosystem for health and performance — where physical therapists, trainers, massage therapists, wellness professionals, and administrative staff all work together to help people become the healthiest version of themselves.

But culture matters just as much as clinical skill. We hire people who are positive, driven, humble, and deeply aligned with our values — people who genuinely care about others and want to leave a lasting impact in their profession while continuing to learn, grow, and evolve themselves.

🏋

Physical Therapists

Live active lifestyles and practice what they preach.

💪

Personal Trainers

Train because they believe in movement as medicine.

👯

Fitness Coaches

Lead group classes at our North County studio — helping people foster connection through movement, together.

🩹

Athletic Trainers

Keep athletes healthy through competition — from tournament and event coverage across San Diego to dialing bodies in at our Point Loma Performance Center.

💆

Massage Therapists

Obsess over helping people move and feel better.

👩‍💼

Admin & Billing Team

Care about people’s stories, their “why,” and creating meaningful experiences every day — whether at the front desk, behind the scenes, or in billing.

How we sharpen each other

Real collaboration, not silos

Healthcare works best when clinicians collaborate openly, share ideas freely, and continuously sharpen each other. We encourage co-treatments, shadow learning, mentorship, and in-house continuing education that pushes our team toward excellence.

How we use technology

AI supports clinicians — it doesn’t replace them

Technology should support clinicians, not replace human connection. We actively leverage A.I. and smart systems to reduce administrative burden, streamline documentation, and let our team spend more time doing what actually matters: helping people.

People-first. Always.

What we don’t do

✕We don’t rush appointments.
✕We don’t chase meaningless productivity metrics.
✕We don’t hide clinicians behind closed doors.
What we do:   invest in relationships, mentorship, growth, and exceptional care.

The people who work at Catalyst aren’t just filling roles — they’re becoming the spark that helps others change their lives.

If that vision resonates with you, you may belong here.

We’re hiring a Physical Therapist to provide flexible coverage when members of our clinical team take PTO, go on leave, or need additional caseload support. This is a great fit for an experienced outpatient PT looking for supplemental hours without committing to a set weekly schedule. You’ll step into established schedules, work alongside a strong clinical team, and treat a mix of orthopedic, post-surgical, sports, and active-adult patients.

What you’ll do

  • Evaluate and treat outpatient orthopedic, post-surgical, and sports-related conditions
  • Step into existing patient schedules and maintain continuity of care
  • Develop and progress individualized plans of care using manual therapy, exercise, and patient education

  • Complete documentation accurately and on time in our EMR
  • Contribute to the collaborative, relationship-focused environment we value at Catalyst

What we’re looking for

  • Active and unrestricted California Physical Therapist license
  • Outpatient orthopedic or sports physical therapy experience strongly preferred
  • Confidence managing an established caseload with limited ramp-up time
  • Strong communication, documentation, and follow-through
  • Dependable, flexible, and comfortable working at more than one Catalyst location
  • Someone who enjoys building relationships and collaborating with PTs, trainers, massage therapists, and performance professionals
  • OCS, CSCS, CAFS, ASTYM, or other specialty training is a plus

Clinical Massage Therapist

Schedule: Part-time, with growth potential
Location: Open across all three clinics — Mission Valley, Point Loma, and 4S Ranch

We’re hiring a Certified Massage Therapist (CAMTC-certified) to work alongside our physical therapist team. You’ll provide clinical massage in support of orthopedic recovery, sports performance, and general wellness — sometimes as a stand-alone service, often integrated with active PT plans of care. The clinical context means real variety: post-surgical patients, weekend athletes, postpartum recovery, and people who simply need their bodies to move better.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver therapeutic, sports, and deep-tissue massage tailored to each client’s clinical or performance goals
  • Coordinate with DPTs on cases where massage is part of the broader treatment plan
  • Maintain accurate session documentation
  • Help shape and grow the wellness side of the practice

What we’re looking for

  • Active California Massage Therapy Certification (CAMTC) — current and in good standing
  • Minimum 500 hours of accredited massage education (1,000 preferred)
  • Sports massage, orthopedic / clinical massage, or NMT experience strongly preferred
  • Comfortable working in a healthcare-adjacent setting alongside licensed PTs
  • CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain on hire)

Physical Therapy Aide / Sports Specialist

Schedule: Part-time
Location: Open across all three clinics — primarily Mission Valley

This is the role we’d offer to our 22-year-old selves. If you’re a pre-PT student, a kinesiology or exercise science grad, an athletic trainer thinking about PT school, or someone who knows you want to spend your career in clinical sports medicine — this is where you start. You’ll be on the floor with patients every day, learning the craft from licensed physical therapists who actually have time to teach.

What you’ll do

  • Help guide patients through prescribed exercises under DPT supervision
  • Set up and clean treatment areas, equipment, and exercise stations between patients
  • Assist with patient flow, intake, and clinic operations
  • Manage laundry, supplies, and basic clinic upkeep — yes, it’s part of the job
  • Be a warm, professional presence for patients arriving and departing

What we’re looking for

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Genuine interest in physical therapy, sports medicine, or allied healthcare
  • Pre-PT, kinesiology, exercise science, or athletic training students strongly encouraged to apply
  • Friendly, dependable, professional — the kind of person patients trust on the first interaction
  • Physically capable (lifting, standing, demonstrating exercises)
  • CPR certification (or willingness to obtain on hire)

A note on our hiring approach

We hire on a rolling basis — meaning if a strong candidate reaches out and there’s no formal opening posted, we’ll still talk. Some of our best hires came from someone who emailed because they liked what we’re doing, even when we weren’t actively recruiting. If that’s you, send a resume to the contact above for the role that fits, or to aj@catalystptandwellness.com for general inquiries.
