PERCUSSION THERAPY

Catalyst percussion therapy is designed to alleviate soft tissue tension and improve your overall joint mobility and muscle flexibility thus enhancing sports recovery.

Catalyst strives to offer our community the best approaches in active recovery. This often means staying up to date with the proven technology being used in the field to generate results for world-class athletes. The Hyperice tool is just that, a hand-held percussion unit that generates 3200 percussions/minute, designed to dissolve those stubborn soft tissue spots found within people that work hard and play hard. Getting this unit in the hands of our joint mobility/ROM specialists allows us to create a one-of-a-kind recovery session to achieve results that can’t be accomplished alone. We feel this helps restore your posture by resetting and relaxing the muscles and surrounding tissues that tighten up your joints allowing you to feel better.

More About Percussion Therapy

Recent studies have shown vibrational (i.e. percussion massage) therapy as an effective modality to reduce delayed onset of muscle soreness (DOMS) following moderate to intense bouts of exercise. This means experiencing much less fatigue and discomfort in muscles and joints, and more rapid exercise recovery following participation in sports and fitness training. Featuring Hyperice’s cutting edge sports recovery products, Catalyst is excited to now integrate percussion therapy in the service mix as featured in used by many professional athletes like NBA star Blake Griffen and Olympic skier and gold medalist Lindsay Vonn.

The Hypervolt is a powerful handheld device that fires up to 3200 percussions per minute, which rapidly vibrates targeted specific areas of the body. Featured in Runner’s World, Percussion therapy is widely used by competitive athletes to reduce delayed onset of muscle soreness (DOMS) following moderate to intense bouts of exercise. This means decreased muscle fatigue and improved movement following percussion sessions. Athletes also use percussion therapy to relieve muscle/joint tension to loosen up and optimize movement prior to workouts and competitions.

Who can benefit from Catalyst Percussion Recovery?

Anyone and everyone who is physically active whether related to work, sports, or hobbies.

What’s the difference between massage therapy and Catalyst Percussion Recovery?

Massage therapy is generally defined as promoting the body’s health and wellness through primarily hands on soft tissue manipulation and sometimes movement/stretching by the practicing massage therapist.

Catalyst Percussion Therapy is a wellness service which utilizes a state-of-the-art-percussion device to create therapeutic vibration over targeted body parts. Both services are very therapeutic and complimentary in promoting total body wellness and pain-free motion.

How long do Catalyst Percussion Therapy sessions last?

Sessions are 15 minutes in duration. The body areas targeted will vary case by case depending on your needs and wellness goals.

How many sessions are recommended before noticing the benefits?

Typically the targeted body areas should feel the effects immediately after one session. This means you should feel an immediate decrease in muscle tension and improved/more fluid motion around the targeted body areas.

How often should I do Catalyst Percussion Therapy?

Depending on your activity level and wellness needs, recommended sessions will vary.  Percussion therapy is useful after intense exercise or physical therapy sessions to loosen up muscles and joints, however it can also be completed beforehand to relieve tension and enhance movement.

Feel free to speak with Frank or any Catalyst staff member to see when percussion therapy can suit your specific needs!
