WHAT MAKES WOMEN’S PELVIC HEALTH PHYSICAL THERAPY DIFFERENT?

Pelvic health services offered at Catalyst are for women in all phases of life. From pre- and postnatal issues through post-menopausal symptoms, we have a dedicated group of services to meet the needs of women of all ages. Our women’s health physical therapists have been specialty-trained to battle the common conditions unique to the female population. These conditions, when left untreated often lead to chronic pain, altered bowel/bladder function, decreased comfort with exercise/sexual activity, and altered birthing plans. We realize these topics are not always the easiest to discuss with others, and our private treatment rooms will be reserved to assure you remain comfortable. Upon examination, our physical therapists will determine a customized treatment program allowing you to walk away with a good understanding of how your pelvic anatomy and movement patterns play into the symptoms you’re experiencing. Early patient education and goal-setting will be implemented so you feel empowered to heal right from the start.

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?
  • I have good days and bad days, but find myself wondering if I actually have a problem, or if my condition is just a normal part of aging.
  • I never had to worry about leaking with exercising or laughing.
  • My body is not recovering as fast from childbirth and I don’t look or feel the same as before I gave birth.
  • Holding my kids or lifting weights isn’t possible without causing back or pelvic pain.
  • It’s painful to have intercourse with my spouse.
  • Intercourse doesn’t feel the same as before giving birth and I’m just not sure if there is anything I can do about it.
  • I don’t know what exercises would help with a natural birth.
  • Everything feels droopy in my vagina, almost like it’s bulging out.
  • I wish I knew how to prepare my pelvis for childbirth.
